SERVICES & SERMONS
Since 1837, St. John's has been a beacon of the love of Christ in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County and beyond. We strive to be disciples of Jesus Christ by gathering on Sundays for worship and other days of the week through a variety of opportunities to reach out into the broader world. We encourage everyone to be part of our work using an individual's time and talents. We offer a variety of opportunity for education and Christian formation because we believe strongly that questions should not be left at the door!
BECOME A PART OF OUR FAMILY
We are committed to God, to our church, and to each other as a family in Christ, providing and cherishing spiritual growth and living our faith in the community at large. Being together is one way that we support each other and our community. Worshiping together, in person or through online opportunities, is a main focus of our understanding that Jesus calls us to love one another. Offering hospitality to our community is another way we show the love of Christ to all.

"Jesus said, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can anyone be born after having grown old? Can one enter a second time into the mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit."

“Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

"Jesus said to his disciples, “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete."

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinegrower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. "
